Boss gets caught writing his own online company reviews: 'I can honestly say I did not have a single problem with management'

One would hope that an employer would know how to take constructive criticism, but many do not. Sure, they expect their employees to be able to be ruthlessly criticized and repeatedly denied what they are worth, but when it comes to the tables turning, they simply do not know how to cope.

Obviously, it's not ideal to be the owner of a company and to come across a negative Glassdoor review about you and the toxic work environment you have helped establish. That being said, the best way to combat these criticisms is not by blocking them out or pretending they do not exist. Rather, the proper course of action is to sift through the negativity and try to extrapolate the feedback that can be useful for the company and for the well-being of the employees moving forward. Unfortunately, this boss was incapable of doing that…

  • The former employee who shared this story discovered that their former boss was writing his own Glassdoor reviews to offset any of the negativity. Thankfully, the ex-employee was able to share this ridiculously, overpraised review of the company, a statement so artificial and so polished there was no way it was honest and reflective of the actual work environment. In other words, despite the fact that the CEO was intent on shaping the narrative of his company, his review had the opposite effect.
